Darksiders: Wrath of War is a title that
popped onto my radar during the THQ spring event and I was anxious to see more of the game at E3 this year. While not advertised as such the game seemed to me to be a bit like an open world God of War game. You play War, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalpse who's been accused of starting the apocalypse without permission. Now it's up to you to find out who caused it and clearn your name. It's a bit like Burn Notice but with Angels, Demons, and more blood than the USA network would be comfortable with.
Once again I was impressed with what I saw from the game. The creature design alone is fantastic as I got to see one of the new mini-bosses in the game. I'm not sure what horrors comic book artists Joe Madreira has but I'm guessing they are a lot more horrifying than whatever everyone else has. I also got to see the new glaive weapon in action. The glaive has two functions. The first is that you can use it to take out multiple small enemies from a distance as well as locking up larger enemies (it's a bit Krull like).
Here's more info on the game from my interview with designer David Adams and and creative director Joe Madreira.
