E3: My grade for each news conference

The last news conference done from the three major companies, here's my quick take on each one.

Microsoft - They started it out a day early and had a good showing. They are really trying to appeal to the casual gamers with stuff like You're in the Movies, Scene It? 2, and Lips. Hardcore folks got their looks at Gears of War 2 and a surprise announcement that Final Fantasy XIII is coming to them in North America and Europe.   :  B-

Nintendo - Started out with Shaun White Snowboarding and went downhill quick after that. Animal Crossing and WiiSports Resort doesn't save this underwhelming showing. An announcement of Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars for the DS but no footage. Too many stats about how well they are doing. We get it. : F

Sony - I liked how they used LittleBIGPlanet to do their charts and it was refreshing to see. Home is looking great but give it to us already. The new services to let you download and purchase content is a welcome addition and we'll finally get a single sign-on in the Fall. God of War III made an appearance to please some fans. MAG looks OK. I just hope it does better than Planetside. : C+
