Microsoft sends word that Age of Empires III has gone gold and will be on shelves October 18th (so schedule your time off now).  The new game features all of the wonderful RTS elements you've come to expect married to a new card/home land system.  Add in some of the best looking graphics you've ever seen in a RTS and you've got yourself a contender for strategy game of the year.
