It was June of last year when several Gaming Nexus staff opened up their
invitations to the Saga beta, billed heavily as the first MMORTS while incorporating a pseudo collectible trading card game element as well. Tom Bitterman, Tyler Sager, and myself suited up and
went about our separate ways within the spanking-new world of
Saga.
...Nine months pass, and
the gestation period for Saga is nearly complete. The concepts are fully baked, the environments are planted with richer populations of flora and architecture, and the battles are looking altogether splashy with spell effects and flaming arrows. While there's no need to curb your enthusiasm for the striking concepts powering
Saga -- persistent player-built city-states; battlemaps bred for fast movement, pillaging, and looting; good ol' fantasy-based background lore -- kindly remember that Silverlode Interactive is an indie house that wasn't necessarily backed by an Activision Blizzard budget. Having said that:
