One exciting looking game coming out of GDC is Realtime World's
APB. No it's not a remake of the old top down car chasing arcade game but an MMORPG that's
Grand Theft Auto-ish. Take Realtime's
Crackdown, upgrade the graphics, add plenty of folks online and you sort of have
APB. People will take roles of criminals or law enforcers and are tasked with either a criminal mission or trying to bring the culprits to justice. It's suppose to eliminate the grind that's in most MMORPGs. The game looks really good and if there's one thing I wanted about
Crackdown was an open world where I can play with all my friends in either causing havok or stopping criminals. Looks lilke
APB might fit that bill to a T.
