I mentioned the NPD numbers for November for Console sales, so now is the time to look at Console Game sales. The Xbox 360 led all with four of the top 10 November sales including
Call of Duty 4,
Assassin's Creed,
Mass Effect and
Halo 3. The Wii was second with three titles including
Super Mario Galaxy,
Wii Play and
Guitar Hero III. The PS3 had two titles,
Call of Duty 4 and
Assassin's Creed and the PS2 one title (
GH III). This is a great illustration of what the two articles I read (
The Street and
Mercury News) state about the attach rate of games to both the Wii and PS3. Its even more pressing for the Wii, as
Wii Play gets many sales just for the extra controller. And what about the PS3, it is getting outsold by Xbox 360 versions almost 3-1 on the two games it has in the top 10. As I said before, December stats should be a lot more telling....
