NPD numbers for console sales in November were released yesterday, and according the Forbes article I read, the yearly sales trend seems to have continued, albeit with larger quantities sold. Th Nintendo Wii once again dominated sales with 981,000 sold, the Xbox 360 was second with 770,000 and the Playstation 3 was in its usual third place slot, having moved only 460,000 units. I have been to plenty of retails stores in the Columbus market, and there are plenty of Xbox 360 and PS3 models on the shelf, although the Wii is being snapped up as soon as it is available. The news can't be even remotely positive for Sony, who was counting on the Holiday season to help boost sales of the fledgling console. The saga will continue once the December NPD's hit sometime in January.
