Sloclap, which you may know as the developer of Sifu and Absolver, is taking their talents to the soccer (football, futbol, calcio, futebol, voetbal) pitch, launching its competitive multiplayer game Rematch on June 19th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The standard edition will set you back $29.99, while the pro edition is $39.99, and the elite edition is $49.99. The latter two versions feature three days early access and a smattering of bonus goodies, including upgrades to the premium battle pass.
In Rematch, you play locked as one player on the pitch in 5v5 or 4v4 matches. Precision and teamwork are key to winning and are the only differentiators between players as there are no skills, perks, or abilities – just you and your soccer skills. Matches are also designed for non-stop play, meaning there are no fouls, offsides, penalties, or VAR.
I can’t wait to see how Sloclap handles an entirely different genre, and even more intrigued to see their take on the beautiful game.
