My colleague Nathan is covering the hardware side, and a couple of announcements for the Nintendo Switch 2, but I couldn't contain my excitement. I'm going to spend $500 on this thing, because it comes with Mario Kart, and I'm going to be busy with Gamecube games anyway. Speaking of which...here's the exclusive games announced for Nintendo Switch 2. Hold on...
Gamecube Games - Expansion Pack
They are bringing Gamecube games to the Switch 2, with The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Soul Caliber 2 (The one with Link), and promises updated graphics. There will be more games added later, including Pokemon Coliseum. This will be available at launch.
Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Party Jamboree comes with more mini games, and more games that use the mouse controls, in a game show experience called Bowser Live. It releases July 24th.
Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Updates
BOTW and TOTK are getting performance upgrades for the Nintendo Switch 2. Frame rates are doubled, and load times will be faster. They will also have better graphics. The newly named Nintendo Switch App will also bring Zelda Notes to help you navigate locations and find items. These will be available day one for purchase.
Kirby and The Forgotten Land + Star Crossed World
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is also getting the upgrade treatment, with a whole new story DLC. It promises new and improved performance, and it will release in August.
Metroid Prime 4 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
You all knew this was coming, but yes, Metroid Prime 4 is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 with enhanced graphics and those Joy Con 2 mouse controls. Plus, you can choose between quality mode at 4K at 60fps, or performance mode at 1080p at 120fps. Launch date is still later this year.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Yep, Pokemon Legends Z-A is still coming this year, and yes, your getting the upgraded performance treatment, and yes, this is your first Pokemon game in 4k. What a time to be alive.
Kirby's Air Riders
You've waited three console generations, and you're finally happy. You finally get what you want, and Kirby Air Riders, directed by Masahiro Sakurai. It will be out later this year, and could definitely mean you will see it's sequel for the Gamecube Nintendo Switch online app.
Donkey Kong Bananza
The last announcement was a new 3D Donkey Kong game, which seems more sandbox and Super Mario Odyssey than an open world Donkey Kong game. The game comes out July 17th, giving us a breather from the games we already have.
The Duskbloods
From Software announced Elden Ring was coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, but then surprised everyone with a brand new exclusive title. It won't come out until 2026, but there will be a special presentation coming on April 4th with director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
I'm going to go lay down.
