Every now and again, my VR sits in the corner of the room, untouched. As there are experiences that I still have yet to take part in, it still hasn't been a necessity for me. There was a stint where I was playing a casino gamer, but that's not what VR should be used for. The Meta Quest 3, and all it's features, especially the mixed reality feature, is pretty sweet. The apps are getting pretty cool.
The latest one to come is The New Salsa Academy, by Dance Reality LLC. The game promises a comfortable foray into the world of salsa dancing, at the fraction of the cost of a dance lesson. You learn from instructor Rodrigo Cortazar, with an AI dance partner, and you can choose to be the lead, or the follow. The game also promises Motion Analysis, and gives you instant feedback. All this, to the sounds of DJ Ricky Capanelli. And yes, you can do this in Mixed reality.
I fully plan to take this game to ballroom studios in the city, and put it all together in one fantastic video. I'll get them to try it out, then make them do the new challenge mode. The game wants you to be a great salsa dancer, and you don't even have to leave your house. It's still in early access, but new updates are coming frequently. You might want to move the furniture, though.
