Velan Studios, the folks behind Knockout City, and now Midnight Murder Club, have revealed that the first-person hide-and-seek party shooter will be released as an early access game on March 13th for PlayStation 5 and PC. Touted as the “full version” of the game, Midnight Murder Club will cost $19.99 and feature a Guest Pass Edition which grants access to up to five friends for the low, low price of free. That’s an awesome inclusion when combined with crossplay and cross-progression support.
In Midnight Murder Club, you and five other players hunt each other in the pitch-black interiors of Wormwood Manor with only a flashlight and a revolver at your disposal. Keeping a keen eye out for the flicker of enemy flashlights, or the sound of approaching footsteps is the key to surviving the Midnight Murder Club. Velan Studios also announced that a new game mode will be available at launch in addition to the existing Free for All, Thief in the Night, Team Deathmatch, and Headhunters modes. The new mode is called Wildcards, which sees you activating cards that alter the rules for everyone in the mansion in crazy ways, from super speed, to spontaneously combusting when you die.
I’ve already rallied some Gaming Nexus colleagues to play Midnight Murder Club with me as our next co-op streaming session. See you in Wormwood Manor, but just know that if I do, you’re toast.
