WWE 2K25 is only a few weeks away and 2K has given us the details on this years My Rise story mode and details of the updated Special Referee match type.
This years My Rise story works a little differently. Instead of having separate stories for the men and women, this year will feature a single combined My Rise story in which you create both a male and female wrestler and choose which division you want to start in but eventually you will play as both of them as the story progresses. IGN also released a video showing off the first 19 minutes of the mode.
2K also released a new Ringside Report highlighting all of the additions to the mode this year. First off is a new feature where you will have to choose your personality traits which include Bold and Brash, Scheming and Calculated, and Comic and Fun. This trait will determine what storylines you will play and it will impact how your characters react to other wrestlers and the situations they find themselves in.
My Rise will also include "Ally Stories" and "Live Events". Ally stories has you will play as wrestlers like Drew McIntyre, Jey Uso, Charlotte Flair and Live Events are optional matches for you to be able to grind XP and can also earn you rewards like exclusive wrestlers, arenas, My Faction cards and more. The cool thing this year is that there are multiple endings and the game will feature a New Game+ mode. Some storylines will only be able to be accessed by playing through the mode multiple times.
Finally as an added bonus to the Ringside Report 2K gave us an updated list of matches that will now support the Special Referee stipulation.
