I'm not a huge social deduction fan. Among Us took the world by storm, and though there have many games of that genre since then, the only one that gave us a buzz was First Class Trouble. Unfortunately, that buzz didn't last as long as I wanted it to. Lately, the co-op multiplayer games have been shifting towards "team up and come out the van for ghosts and monsters". Snowfall Games still thinks it's got legs, and who are we to tell them different? They're releasing a game called It Was You, and it's a murder mystery game like no other.
The game lets you play with as little as 5 players, but can go up to 12. You are at a mystery themed Halloween Party, and upon arrival, you all receive a role. You will be a detective or a killer. Detectives get the tools to solver the murder. There's a magnifying glass to trace footprints, among other things. The killer (or killers) can get spray bottles to erase their fingerprints, and can even hide bodies. Of course, at any time, anyone can call for a meeting, and see whodunit!
The game also has proximity chat, which means conversations sound muffled if you're in a room, and someone is outside of that room. If the door is closed, and you want to commit some dirty murder, you will most likely get away with it if no one else is around. They can hear muffled screams through the door and catch you in the act if you're not careful. There are also NPC's standing by, so you know...no witnesses.
There's not a release date, but there is this teaser to get you in the mood for a good time. Co Founder Jason Holladay doesn't shy away from where he got his inspiration, so we'll have to see it for ourselves to have a...CLUE!
