Xbox Game Studios announced today that not one, but two Age of Empires universe games are heading to the PlayStation 5 home entertainment system later this year. First up is Age of Mythology: Retold, which is releasing March 4th alongside the new Immortal Pillars expansion. The PS5 version will feature full content parity with the PC and Xbox versions of the game. Pre-orders are available now for $29.99 for the Standard Edition and $49.99 for the Premium Edition.
Also hitting PS5 this year is Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition, which only has a vague Spring release window for now. It will also launch alongside a new expansion, which is staying under wraps for now, but is being hyped as “one of the most exciting DLC expansions for Age II: DE yet”.
Once both titles hit PlayStation 5, they will receive the same updates and content expansions as the other versions moving forward. Exciting times! I am looking forward to checking out both on PS5 Pro.
