Earlier 2K put WWE 2K25 up for pre-order and they also fully revealed all of the new features that will be coming to the game on their official website.

Probably the biggest addition will be "The Island" which appears to be WWE 2K's equivalent to NBA 2K's "The City". The blog post says we will be upgrading a "MySuperstar", complete quests and challenges and will include multiple story chapters. This one is very intriguing to me as a City type game mode I think would work very well in a wrestling game. I just hope the microtransactions that will inevitably be there aren't as horrific as they are in NBA 2K.

The Showcase mode this year will focus on The Bloodline and this mode is finally getting some changes the community has been asking a long time for. First off the awful Slingshot tech is gone and we will be able to play matches from start to finish. We will also have multiple options as to how we want to play each match. We can either play the match out as it was or change history by flipping the outcome of the match. The Showcase will also include dream matches between members of the Bloodline and WWE Superstars.

Another big addition will be the return of Intergender wrestling and by the sounds of it, there will be almost no restrictions so men and women will now be able to compete in any match type against each other. This also ties in to the new My Rise which they are calling a "Unified My Rise". Instead of getting a separate male and female story, we get one story where we can play as either a male or female created wrestler.

The game will also include new match types including the NXT Underground match, a MMA style match where the ring ropes and turnbuckles are removed and the only way to win is by submission or KO. The other new match is the Bloodline Rules match. A no DQ match with a twist. Each person in the match can have up to three allies interfere in the match on their behalf. While playing the match you will fill up a meter and when it's full you can trigger a run in. Funnily enough this will be a perfect way to recreate matches during the Attitude Era where it seemed like every single match would end with a ton of run ins.

The full list of features can be found on the official WWE 2K25 website including info on GM mode now being playable online, Promos being added back into Universe mode and a roster featuring over 300 Wrestlers.

WWE 2K25 launches on March 14th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X and PC.
