Industry wild man, Josef Fares, and the team at Hazelight are just over a month away from releasing their next co-op adventure, a sci-fi and fantasy mash-up called Split Fiction. Today, a new trailer not only shares a fresh look at gameplay, but introduces Side Stories, or side quests, if you will. These optional adventures are hidden within main story levels and look like portals. If you thought the core gameplay loop of bouncing back and forth between fantasy and sci-fi worlds was trippy, wait until you’re surfing across the desert on a sandfish (not to be confused with a sandworm), or snowboarding through a futuristic battlefield.
The sheer variety on display in Split Fiction is incredible – it’s an action game, a platformer, a side-scroller, a fantasy RPG, and a sci-fi RPG all in one package. I can’t wait to get my hands on it when it releases March 6th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
