Nintendo Switch 2 announced, I will keep my cool.

More On:

This morning I received a notification on my phone. It simply said "An Update From Nintendo". I ran to the office, set up the rig, and went live. After a few audio problems, because yes, I went live and looked at the Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time. I read no leaks, rumors, or even saw mockups. I read nothing, I saw nothing. But it's here. Sort of.

The video touts a bigger screen, more ports, and what looks like magnetic Joycon that fasten to the sides via pin connections. Then they showed off the next Mario Kart, which looks just like Mario Kart. They then flash a huge 2025 on the screen, followed up with a date of a special Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025. They then announce that it will be backwards compatible with physical Nintendo Switch games, but not ALL Nintendo Switch games.

Nintendo also plans to have ticketed consumer hands on events in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Toronto starting April 4th, and you must enter a lottery to get to this even, no expenses paid. You can enter that, starting on January 17, at 3pm EST. You can enter that here, and you will need a Nintendo account. You can register all the family members on your family account, too, if you want to up your chances.

Check out the videos below. You won, leakers. I still think Nintendo is sick of you, and they should be.
