Hazelight Studios and Electronic Arts revealed Split Fiction at The Game Awards last night, and after sleeping on it, I’m ready to call it my favorite reveal of the entire show. Split Fiction is an action-adventure co-op game from the same studio that made It Takes Two and A Way Out, this time merging science fiction and fantasy games together in a unique way. You play as either Mio, a sci-fi writer, or Zoe, a fantasy novelist whose fictional worlds collide, allowing players to jump between two drastically different settings.
Both Zoe and Mio will have to work together to escape the machine that has trapped them in their own writings, creating an unbreakable friendship along the way. As is tradition with Hazelight’s games, Split Fiction will feature the Friend Pass, which allows one player who owns the game to invite a friend to play with in the game’s entirety for free.
Split Fiction launches March 6th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for $49.99.
