Well, here’s a big surprise. Bohemia Interactive shadow dropped its popular tactical military shooter Arma Reforger on PlayStation 5 today. And when I say today, I technically mean in the early morning hours here in the eastern United States. Even as an avid fan of first-person shooters, I had no idea this was coming to PS5, but I’m glad it has.
Arma Reforger utilizes Bohemia Interactive’s Enfusion Engine to bring enhanced graphics and performance to PS5, as well as full support for the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, which is always music to my ears. The PlayStation Store page also says the game is PS5 Pro enhanced, though I can’t seem to find any details on that currently.
Set in 1989, Arma Reforger sees three player factions fighting in Cold War era sandbox battles across four game modes – Conflict, Game Master, Combat Ops, and Capture & Hold. Conflict requires teams to capture points, build structures, and run logistics to hold their ground. Game Master lets players create their own custom scenarios to play solo or with friends, and the best part is they can be changed on the fly to keep things fresh. Combat Ops is a solo or co-op mode is an extraction mode with dynamic objectives that make each match unique. And finally, Capture & Hold distills the Arma Reforger gameplay into short, intense matches.
