So you went and got an Xbox, and maybe you bought a Series S, because at the time, it was the best deal in next-gen gaming. You didn't get a Series X, because you didn't care about the 12 teraflops, because NCAA College Football '25 will probably look the same on your QLED 48" Samsung. You also have Gamepass, because yes, and you didn't even care about that tier pricing fiasco earlier this year. Well, maybe you're in luck.
Announced today, Xbox will let you stream and play any game you own to any device. If you have a device with a screen, congratulations, you can stream and play any game, anywhere, anytime, with a strong internet/phone connection, of course. Huzzah! All you need, is Gamepass, a controller, and you're off. Any game you own. I haven't given this a shot yet, but maybe it's in the works. This isn't just for games you own though. Remember, you have Gamepass, so you'll have access to over 50 games here pretty soon, including NBA2K25, Baldur's Gate, and Balatro. You can see the full list here.
Not to be outdone, Sony just announced that the Playstation Portal, that device I laughed at for hours, and eventually bought from an unamed online marketplace, just announced that you will have access to over 50 games on the cloud, via Playstation Plus. So now, the Playstation Portal, that still doesn't have a browser in case you have to sign into the internet via a website, will let you play games without signing in to your console. A pretty cool upgrade, that I tried out myself. It worked from home, so that's a positive. If you have one, check it out. You probably have to charge it.
