An unfortunate reality of gaming today is seeing all kinds of games from classics to even current ones being delisted from digital storefronts and becoming unobtainable. Well unobtainable via normal means but that's a conversation for another day.

Anyways, SEGA has announced that a number of their classic games will be delisted next month from Steam, Xbox, Playstation and Switch digital storefronts on December 6th 2024 at 11:59PM PST

Games include both games from the SEGA Classics collections and SEGA Dreamcast games.

Here is just a small list of games that will be delisted...

  • Altered Beast
  • Comix Zone
  • Crazy Taxi
  • Dreamcast Collection Bundle
  • Echo The Dolphin
  • Eternal Champions
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Sonic 3D Blast
  • Sonic Spinball
  • Space Channel 5: Part 2
  • Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3
  • Toejam and Earl

Along with these games, "SEGA Genesis Classics" a compilation which features a number of these games will be delisted as well. Check out SEGA's official website for a full FAQ and the full list of games being delisted from all storefronts.

Now the good news is that if you do own any of these games you will still be able to play them at anytime along with re-download them had you uninstalled them in the past. SEGA Genesis classic games also will remain on the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service.

No word yet on why these games are being delisted but my hope is because they are possibly going to be releasing some kind of new collection in the future.
