WHAT THE CAR? releases today for PC

Following the full debut last year on Apple Arcade, WHAT THE CAR? is now releasing for PC on Steam. The winner of the 2024 DICE Award for Mobile Game of the Year, it very much follows in the irreverent footsteps of it's predecessors like WHAT THE GOLF? or WHAT THE BAT? in that this is a car/racing game in name only much like the other is very much not a golf game (although I did very much enjoy the first iteration and wrote a bit about it here). Just silly good times taking cars and golf through all sorts of wacky tomfoolery. Your car has legs for crying out loud, and likes to fish, cook, fly, and anything else under the sun. 

WHAT THE CAR? takes the WHAT THE series to new places not only including tons of pre-baked content to explore but also provides a level designer to create your own madcap mayhem. Some highlights from the developer's press release:

• A WORLD TO EXPLORE - It’s not all racing. Explore the many islands to meet new friends, find hidden treasures or try your best at the quirky puzzles. (Hint: Look behind the waterfalls!)
• CREATE YOUR OWN LEVELS - Make your own wacky levels, share them with friends and family, or climb the leaderboards of levels made by other players. (Hint: Adding cute bears and speed pads that go vroom works every time!)
• OKAY, IT GETS REALLY SILLY - You’ll be flipping burgers, fishing, swimming, and singing CAR-aoke! (Hint: Don’t try to talk to the laser cow)
• STEAM DECK VERIFIED - If you prefer being a car with legs on the go, then we got some great news: WHAT THE CAR? is fully Steam Deck verified!

WHAT THE CAR? is $10 on Steam right now.  There is also a $24 bundle on discount that adds in WHAT THE GOLF? which normally retails for $20 on its own.
