Atari and WayForward treated us to the final story trailer for Yars Rising a whole week before it's release, and the familiarity will hit you right in the Metroid. As you take control of Emi "Yar" Kimura, after she is well into hacking the Qotech servers. The trailer goes through and shows some good ol fashioned platforming, big bosses, and story elements. If you've played Yars: Revenge for the Atari 2600, then good news. Those skills will come in handy, interestingly enough.
The mission is simple. You and Yar's companions help her navigate through the factory, using the tools and weapons you get from hacking consoles within the compound. But it won't be easy. As you combine platforming, stealth, and run and gun skills, lots of enemies stand in the way. You'll even have to use some stealth to get by. The further you go, the stronger you get, and of course, the more you can explore. I can't say much more until September 10th, the release date, but I can say, that a Atari 2600 game about nibbling has a full fledged sci-fi action packed story based on it. How?
