More On: Hunt: Showdown

It’s time to start asking, “Can it run Hunt: Showdown 1896?”, as today Crytek has released an upgraded version of the popular PvPvE extraction shooter. With the launch of Hunt: Showdown 1896, the original version (just Hunt: Showdown) is no more, having now been removed from digital storefronts. The good news is that previous owners can upgrade to the new, upgraded version free of charge – just beware that you must dig a little deeper on the PlayStation Store to find the free upgrade, at least for now.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 moves the game to CRYENGINE 5.11, bringing native 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The update also introduces a new Colorado biome called Mammon’s Gulch, a new enemy called Hellborn, and a new Scorched Earth event.

PC players can enjoy a free Steam weekend from now through August 19th, while console players can enjoy a 20% discount on the game’s various editions. See you out there, Hunters.
