It’s really happening – Dragon Age: The Veilguard is coming this year, and in relatively short order. The next installment in the acclaimed RPG series is launching October 31st for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It has also already achieved Steam Deck Verified status. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, we will step into the shoes of Rook, a fully-customizable protagonist who must unite The Veilguard against corrupt Elven gods. On this adventure, we will be joined by seven companions, each from an iconic Dragon Age faction that will have their own motivations, backstory, and unique combat abilities. It will be in the player’s hands as to how this story fully unfolds, based on their decisions and relationships with those around them.
Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game are now available to pre-order, with the PC version retailing for $59.99 and up, while the console versions go for $69.99 and up. EA Play Pro subscribers will have it included in their subscription beginning on Halloween.
The last Dragon Age game I played was Inquisition, of which I have fond memories, particularly of hogging the only television that my wife and I had in our first apartment, meaning she had no choice but to watch me play hours of the RPG. A mere decade later and she will finally be free to totally ignore my playthrough of Dragon Age: The Veilguard – a playthrough I am very much looking forward to.
