Delta Force: Hawk Ops, despite only being in alpha on PC, is taking the first-person shooter world a bit by storm. I’ve been jealously reading social media posts and watching gameplay clips from content creators since the game’s alpha test first began, as folks are noticeably high on the free-to-play shooter from developer Team Jade. That high looks to keep on rolling tomorrow with the addition of a new Space City map to the alpha, which includes new missions, environments, and secrets to discover. You can see it in action in the latest trailer below.
If you’re unfamiliar, Delta Force: Hawk Ops is coming to mobile, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, though no release date has been announced. It features a single-player campaign centered around the events of the Black Hawk Down movie, but also a co-op PvE mode called Hazard Operations, and a Battlefield-style PvP mode known as Havoc Warfare.
Trust me when I tell you that Delta Force: Hawk Ops is going to be huge when it finally launches. I play lots of shooters (including Battlefield, the direct competition) and I can’t remember the last time there was an overwhelmingly positive sentiment around a competitive military shooter like this. The alpha test does not support controllers or I would have dove in myself to see what all the fuss is about, never mind the mouse and keyboard staring at me in my Amazon cart.
