Well, here is a nice little pre-Gamescom surprise. Snail Games, the publishers of the ARK franchise, have announced a new AAA “open universe” space survival game called For The Stars, coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
As a space explorer and scientist, you will journey from planet to planet, studying the secrets of alien civilizations, accumulating rare resources, and, of course, trying to survive deadly conditions. For The Stars will feature a persistent multiplayer universe that will let you establish outposts, forge alliances, and engage in combat. It wouldn’t be a proper survival sandbox game without the ability to play in co-op with your friends, with whom you can collaborate on building projects or to fight other players for resources. Perhaps most importantly, you will be able to design and build your own personal spacecraft and customize it to the needs of your current adventure.
This sounds dope. We don’t have a release date yet, but For The Stars has been in development for the last three years, so it is well underway. Check out a developer Q&A below for more info:
