It has been nearly a year since The Precinct was revealed to world, and now it feels like we are on the precipice of its release. Today, the team at Fallen Tree Games has shared a new look at the police procedural sandbox game, which I’ve been describing to internet friends as “Grand Theft Auto meets Police Simulator”.
The Precinct aims to blend the minutia of policework with the freedom of an open-world sandbox in the fictional location of Averno City. You’ll engage in all manner of policing, from routine traffic stops to busting up bank heists with a nostalgic isometric viewpoint. There is no end to the crime you’ll encounter in Averno, thanks to a litany of procedurally generated crimes to contend with.
I am thrilled that The Precinct has been getting more eyes on it lately. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this one so very badly. The good news? Fallen Tree Games has a new trailer lined up for Future Games Show 2024, so perhaps we’ll be getting a release date very soon.
