It should come as no surprise at this point, but Capcom are cooking once again, this time with a new action strategy game called Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. It was originally announced in 2023, but today during the Xbox Partner Preview event we received a new gameplay trailer, and it looks superb.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is a single-player adventure set in a Japanese-inspired universe where an evil scourge covers Mount Kafuku and its surrounding villages. You play as Soh, who must work with and protect a maiden named Yoshiro to purge the evil. The scourge has also stolen 12 masks with divine powers, which Soh and Yoshiro reclaim one by one. As you liberate villages and their masks, you also gain followers.
The game features a day and night cycle that sees you liberating villages and preparing defenses by day to fight evil spirts known as The Seethe at night. Which villagers and powers you choose to bring with you at night are up to you. Preparing for The Seethe requires strategically placing your allies and traps to properly fortify your position.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is launching later this year on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Game Pass. I implore you to check out this new trailer:
