Foamstars lands on Playstation Plus

Announced about a month ago and following a beta back in September, FOAMSTARS is now out, but only through Playstation Plus. The game does not actually have a standalone purchase option at this time but is exclusive to Sony's monthly subscription service as one of the free games for February. Once this month's rotation ends, it will go on sale for $29.99 in March. 

FOAMSTARS is a first person shooter where you sling foam instead of bullets, both dealing damage and transforming the arena on which you play. Each team uses corresponding color foam and you get buffs or debuffs depending on which you are traversing. There will be free themed seasonal updates throughout the year, and a Premium Pass for $6 to immediately unlock new characters and cosmetics for each season. Season 1 features the following events:

• Ranked Party: Rise in the FOAMSTARS ranks by competing in two limited-time seasonal events, the solo player-based Ranked Party Lonestar and team-based Ranked Party Tribe-Vibe.
• Extreme Party: Challenge players in two special themed modes; the All Mel T Party - where every player battles it out as Mel T, and the Invisible Party, where everyone is invisible.
• Happy FriYAY Party: A weekend-only party event with no winners or losers, just the opportunity to try-out next season’s FOAMSTAR, Coiff Guy.
