News was expected to drop today regarding Square Enix’s FOAMSTARS, and now we know it was the biggest of news. The 4v4 multiplayer arena shooter was announced to be launching February 6th for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, joining PlayStation Plus as a day one launch title. PS Plus subscribers can claim the game for their library from February 6th until March 4th, after which time the game will retail for $29.99.
At launch, FOAMSTARS will include three PvP modes, including Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival, and a new mode not in last year’s playstest called Rubber Duck Party. If you’re not much of a PvP player, we also learned that the game will include a solo PvE mode called Foamstar, and a co-op mode called Squad Missions.
As a live service game, FOAMSTARS will feature seasonal content and a premium season pass for $5.99 for each new season. The season pass will grant immediate access to a new playable character, with levels of earnable cosmetics. Check out the new release date trailer below, and prepare to get nice and foamy.
