Arcadian Atlas boasts an impactful narrative and deep tactical combat

More On: Arcadian Atlas

Maybe you’ve noticed, but we’re in a bit of a slump when it comes to big titles being released. In a year where we had some huge games hit, and miss, overall, it has been a crazy year. The games alone that I’ve had the chance to play and review are crazy. Usually this is the time of year when I like either hit my back catalog or find some cool indie titles that aren’t getting the love they should. I think Arcadian Atlas might be one I try out. Following its launch on Steam earlier this year developer Twin Otter Studios has released the pixel tactical RPG Arcadian Atlas to consoles. The world of Arcadia is a kingdom tearing itself apart and forces more dark and ancient than the soil are about to awaken. You’ll build an army of troops, customizing their classes and skills to gain every advantage you can against monsters, ruthless men, a daughter scorned, and a queen so cruel she’s killed her husband to gain the throne.

There are more than 12 classes to build out your party as you fight through a seemingly endless conflict. Each class has its own custom skill trees and equipment ranging from potion-brewing apothecaries to magic-channeling warmancers. The tactical combat is paired with a story that will push players into, “tough, emotionally driven choices and send them down an unforgettable path. No one is safe now that the Atlas, a power that can change life in an instant, has been unleashed.”

Arcadian Atlas is out for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
