RoboDunk is labeling itself as the world’s first basketball roguelite. I’m not sure how to feel. Is this a peanut butter in my chocolate situation, or more of an orange juice and toothpaste? When it comes to the art style shown in the trailer, I’m all for it. “Developer Jollypunch Games takes basketball into a new age with thunderous SPACE DUNKS, stop-motion robo ballers, and earth-shattering weapons! Dominate robo-opponents with satisfying tackles; shoot your lasers while weaving through asteroids and jump over tornados. Throw down legendary dunks solo or with the team in local multiplayer, with drop-in/drop-out co-op in all modes and up to 4 players versus.”
RoboDunk is hoping to fill the hole of NBA Jam, featuring two-on-two basketball, co-op, and up to four players in the same game. I also really dig the look of RoboDunk, the animations looks like it’s using claymation for characters, something you don’t see frequently in video games. RoboDunk is now available on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
