Wayfinder has been ebbing and flowing since first being announced late last year, experiencing several playtests and delays, but now we finally have a date for when we can get our hands on the promising title. Developer Airship Syndicate will launch the online action RPG via Early Access on August 15th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. A proper 1.0 launch is scheduled for later this year, at which time the game will transition to a full-blown free-to-play experience.
To gain access to, well, Early Access, players will need to purchase a Founder's Pack starting on August 15th. Multiple tiers of entry are on offer ranging from $19.99 to $149.99, with each pack including a smattering of in-game currency, bonuses, and Reward Tower access. You can see one of those handy comparison charts right here to inform your purchasing decision. So, what is the Reward Tower? It is a nifty way of approaching seasonal content that lets you choose which content you'd like to unlock along the way. It reminds me a bit of how Modern Warfare II handled its battle passes, but Airship Syndicate is positioning Reward Tower as a game within the game. You can learn more about it here, but I'd recommend checking out the latest dev diary video below, which also teases our first look at player housing!
I was fortunate to participate in one of the very first playtests earlier this year and I walked away extremely impressed with the game's combat and world. Myself and a friend have been keen to jump back in ever since, so it's fair to say that I'm excited about Early Access. See you soon in Evenor.
