Do you know how hard it is to keep from shouting in excitement for something while you're at work, lest your co-workers stare at you and think you're insane? That happened to me today as I found out that during today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that Super Mario RPG is getting a remake/remaster for the Nintendo Switch.
Originally released on the Super NES in 1996 as well as the Super NES Classic, Super Mario RPG follows Mario as he once again sets out to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. However, a giant sword plunges itself into Bowser's castle and hurls Mario, Bowser, and Princess Peach to different parts of the world. Mario must now not only find the Princess but also find out the purpose behind several power stars he comes across (the game's original title is Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars). This was the game that got me into RPGs as a kid and I'm even more excited to play through an updated version. Super Mario RPG hits the Nintendo Switch on November 17th and is now up for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop.
