We’re just under two months from the release of cooperative action RPG Atlas Fallen on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This week, ahead of its August 10th launch, developer Deck13 has shared a new five-minute gameplay overview trailer with our best look yet at the game’s combat, world, and enemies.
In Atlas Fallen, you'll venture across a sand-covered world as you fight against the forces of the Sun God Thelos and his powerful monsters known as Wraiths. An artifact known as the Gauntlet gives you the ability to glide (see: ski) across the sand-filled environments and use shapeshifting weapons to dispatch foes. The world of Atlas contains 151 Essence Stones, which grant new attacks and abilities that allow you to customize your moveset to your own personal playstyle, but also to counter the strengths and weaknesses of enemies. I'm getting a lot of different vibes from Atlas Fallen, but it reminds me quite a bit of Monster Hunter. If it is a more narrative-driven, RPG take on Monster Hunter, that might just do it for me.
