South Korean MMO specialists NCSOFT revealed the first trailer for Throne and Liberty, their next MMORPG, during yesterday’s Summer Game Fest show. As first trailers go, it is actually pretty substantial, clocking in right at two-minutes and featuring some snippets of gameplay as well as some world building.
Throne and Liberty is set in the fantasy world of Solisium, which evolves dynamically based on factors such as weather, time of day, and the actions of other players. You will explore a vast world with varied environments from large mountain ranges to open plains as you try to defeat Kazar and claim his throne, all while fighting to keep rivals from the very same throne. Gameplay features combat on a large scale with both PvP and PvE encounters. Traversal also plays a big role in Throne and Liberty and, as you can see in the trailer below, you can morph into animals to travel by air or water. NCSOFT says you can also use it to camouflage in the environment, or perhaps shapeshift into a defeated boss.
There is currently no release date for Throne and Liberty, but it will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S when it does. Back in February, NCSOFT and Amazon Games announced a publishing partnership for the game which will bring it to North and South America, Europe, and Japan, with support for cross-platform play.
