Developer Ishtar Games and publisher The Arcade Crew have released roguelite tactical RPG The Last Spell on Personal Computer, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 today. It is launching 1.0 after selling more than 250,000 copies during its Steam Early Access period.
In The Last Spell, you must outlast an unending evil horde attacking you from all angles as you protect humanity’s last haven. Maneuver randomly generated teams of warriors and strategically build defensive structures to survive long enough for your mages to cast The Last Spell. It looks challenging but cool, and reminds me of two games specifically: Vampire Survivors and They Are Billions.
You can grab the game for 10% off for a limited time during its launch window. Check out a new trailer and some other key features below:
Deeply Rewarding Turn-Based Combat: Thoughtfully equip, position and command squads to line up devastating attacks on groups of enemies without getting overpowered.
Immense Replayability: Randomized party members, stashes of gear, and enemy flanks make each run an exciting, unpredictable fight through procedural generation.
Defensive Strategy: Develop a customizable holdout with upgradable buildings and defensive structures while stalling an unending advance of monsters.
Rewarding Challenge: Close in on humanity’s salvation with each defeat, learning new tactics and unlocking weapons, skills or new supportive buildings.
A Rousing Soundtrack: A synth-driven progressive metal OST perfectly suited for the highs of battle and the brooding, dark world of The Last Spell composed by French musician Rémi Gallego, aka The Algorithm.
