Sabotage Studio’s hotly anticipated retro-inspired turn-based RPG Sea of Stars is launching on August 29th for Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation. The date was revealed at today’s Nintendo Direct, alongside the announcement of a free demo which is available now on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
The demo features roughly an hour of an early section of the game that will introduce players to the main systems and mechanics, as well as key characters and a taste of what it’s like to explore the world. If you’re totally out of the loop, Sea of Stars features active turn-based combat, seamless traversal that doesn’t bolt you to the ground, gameplay that does not require grinding or farming, and plenty of fun distractions in the world including sailing, cooking, listening to music in taverns, and a tabletop game called “Wheels”.
It’s highly anticipated for a reason, and the reason is that it looks and sounds wonderful. For the Switch-less who don’t have the luxury of a free demo waiting for them, check out a fresh trailer instead:
