Developer Ascendant Studios announced their debut game Immortals of Aveum, a single-player first-person magic shooter, at last night’s Game Awards. It is planned to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC sometime in 2023.
Immortals of Aveum is set in an original fantasy universe that is torn by conflict and on the brink of destruction. It will feature a visceral, cinematic campaign according to Ascendant Studios, which despite being a newer studio (founded in 2018), is comprised of a wealth of veteran industry talent. Bret Robbins, the studio’s founder, was the creative director on the original Dead Space and three Call of Duty games: Modern Warfare 3, Advanced Warfare, and WWII. Robbins has surrounded himself with fellow veterans who have worked on other major franchises such as Halo and BioShock.
Ascendant has partnered with the EA Originals publishing label to bring Immortals of Aveum to market in 2023. It all looks and sounds quite promising, and you can check out the reveal trailer below:
