Square Enix has unveiled a free playable demo for the first chapter of their upcoming JRPG Valkyrie Elysium on PlayStation consoles. The demo's progress will transfer over to the full game on release, but cannot be transferred between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms.
You play as a young Valkyrie entrusted with the fate of the world by the All-Father, the highest of gods and ruler of all creation who will face various enemies on her quest and must utilize a variety of weapons, magic and the power of her allies to prevent Ragnarok. Fans of the series can tune into a special Tokyo Game Show 22 livestream event featuring the game on Saturday, September 17 at 2:30 am PT.
Valkyrie Elysium is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 on September 29, 2022 and PC via Steam on November 11, 2022. Pre-orders (including the free demo) are now available on the PlayStation Store for $59.99 for the base edition and $74.99 for the digital deluxe edition. The digital deluxe edition includes the base game, Valkyrie equipment "Svartaljr", and Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Lenneth is a previous Valkyrie game being ported to the PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles.
