Sega has just finished showing off all things Sonic coming this year. Sonic Central 2022 gave a sneak peek at some of the upcoming projects, partnerships, and events happening in 2022 with Sonic the Hedgehog.
For starters a little bit more information was given for Sonic Frontiers, the upcoming platform game developed by Sonic Team that’s being published by Sega. “As Sonic the Hedgehog, the player explores the mysterious Starfall Islands to collect the Chaos Emeralds after Sonic, Miles 'Tails' Prower, and Amy Rose separate when falling through a wormhole.” The announcement here dealt with the animated prologue. Sadly nothing was shown, just teased, but the tease also mentions the inclusion of Knuckles. They also said the prologue would be shown off in full before the release of the game.
In August Sonic costumes are also coming to Fall Guys. You’ll be able to dress up as Sonic, Knuckles, or Tails. And if you forgot Fall Guys will be free to play starting on June 21. There is also new content and characters coming to mobile games Sonic Forces and Sonic Dash. Sonic Speed Simulator, a game in the Roblox universe is also receiving new content.
You can watch all ten minutes of the video below where they also mention licensing deals for things like food, drink, and gaming accessories. They also mention the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Blu-ray and digital release schedule.
