"Head down the manhole" says the PR release. The developers working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge are running a series of behind the scenes videos detailing just how they are going about re-capturing the look and feel of the side-scrolling beat 'em up in the modern age. The arcades of the 80's and 90's were filled these types of games but they've been out of fashion for a spell. The first video in the series provided background on how it was a "lifelong dream" to work on a TMNT game. The video below, the second in the series, goes into the design of the characters themselves and how they are paying tribute to the original models from 1987.
TMNT: Shredder's Revenge releases for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC "this summer." There are plenty of Gaming Nexus eyes on this one as many of us are children of the 80s and anticipating this particular bit of nostalgia coming back to life.
