White Shadows, the puzzle platformer from German studio Monokel, impressed at the German Computer Games Awards 2022 bringing home the prize for "Best Debut" - the award given to the best Newcomer on the scene. Judges were obviously impressed with White Shadows distinctive art that brings to life its dystopian world, as you can see in the trailer below. I gotta say I'm impressed too, if the visuals alone enough to make you want to give this game a closer look (and I might just see if I can't get a review going) then surely the use of the Peer Gynt Suite as the background music must.
As the Game Awards description reads: the "many lovingly placed details that tell a story about oppression, discrimination, and violence via environmental storytelling, the gameplay never gets boring, even in quieter moments."
White Shadows is out now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
