IllFonic announced their newest project today: an asymmetrical multiplayer game called Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The game features a 4v1 hunt or haunt, where you can play as a team of 4 Ghostbusters or play as the Ghost itself! There will be missions from Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore, and you get to meet old and new friends like Dan Aykroyd's Ray Stantz.
IllFonic is the developer behind Arcadegeddon, Predator: Hunting Grounds, Friday the 13th: The Game, Dead Alliance, Star Citizen, Evolve, Armored Warfare, and Nexuiz, so they are veterans of the asymmetrical multiplayer genre.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and PC via the Epic Games Store sometime in Q4 of 2022. The game will feature cross-platform multiplayer between all versions of the game. AI companions will help fill games and the game can be played offline and solo as well.
