Tetris 99 regularly does this with the Maximus Cup weekend tournaments. I reported on it from the 5th edition back in 2019 and here we are with the 28th Maximus Cup welcoming Pokémon Legends: Acreus to the lineup. This edition runs from 11 p.m. PT on January 20 to 10:59 p.m. PT on January 24th. You do need to be a Switch Online subscriber to play, like most game modes in Tetris 99. You earn points for placement in each match, and when you accumulate 100 points, you unlock a new theme, background art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by the Pokémon Legends: Arceus game.
