World champion publisher Coatsink (everything they touch is gold) and developer Over the Moon this week announced The Last Hero of Nostalgaia as part of the ID Xbox Twitch Showcase.
It's hard to describe the vibe of the trailer, other than to say that it is witty and clever. Check it out:
So it seems that the world of videogames is slammed into some sort of temporal reversal. All of the characters and environments are becoming more and more pixelated, and it's up to the hero to take on a Soulslike quest to fight back the degradation of the videogame world and save games as we know them. According to a recent press release: "As the most hideous pixelated hero to ever spawn in Nostalgaia, you must fight through an army of it’s mindless inhabitants all while being jeered by a cynical narrator who despises your very existence."
Sounds awesome, right? Probably too hard for me to play, but I'll take a shot at it anyhow.
The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is planned for release in 2022 and will be available to play on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam with an optimized version for Xbox Series X|S.
