Developer straka.studio released a demo for their upcoming indie game Loot River. Currently, there is no release date other than sometime next year for PC and Xbox systems.
Loot River is a dungeon crawling action roguelike that combines brutal real time combat from the Soulsborne series as well as block shifting puzzles from Tetris. The current demo allows players to experience the tutorial as well as two mini levels. The full game will feature procedurally generated dungeons but the demo is locked to one permutation to give the players a try at the game's shape shifting mechanic and combat system. Because of this, no two playthroughs will be the same.
Players can shift the ground, allowing sliding floating ruins together in a series of tile puzzles. Players will also encounter deadly beasts and bosses, as well as discover valuable weapons and gear to aid them on their perilous journey. The demo is available now on Xbox consoles and PC via Steam so do give it a try!
