Shoot 'em ups are a pretty popular genre, especially those which can be classified as "bullet hell" games. You know, the ones where your ship has a tiny hit box and it looks like there's no way to avoid the onslaught of projectiles coming your way. While there are plenty out there, especially if you're fond of importing from Japan, another one is coming to Steam this December. Castle of Shikigami 2 from Degica Games is a vertical shoot-em up that was released in Japan on a few platforms between 2003 and 2005 with the only North American version releasing in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. The upcoming Steam version will launch with two brand-new game modes as well a completely retranslated English version from the original. You'll choose one of seven characters, each of which have their own unique abilities, and utilize their own shots and special Shikigami attack and bombs to take your enemies in five stages with different stories playing out between stages for each character. There's also a completely different story that'll unfold when playing with two players.
While Castle of Shikigami 2 won't launch on Steam until December, you can download the Servant God demo where you can check out three of the characters and two of the stages.
