WWE had their annual SummerSlam event last night and during the extravaganza, they released a new trailer for WWE 2K22 as well as a release month.
March 2022 is now when you can expect the game, which is considered a delay for the series. Most of the time the releases come out in October, but we're not going to be seeing a WWE game in the next two months. Rumors are this decision to delay as well as what's been happening with WWE has caused a lot of contention between 2K and WWE.
If you don't know, the WWE has released a great deal of talent recently resulting in many of the wrestlers slated to appear on the game to not even be with the company anymore. This delay should help fix most of that as well as add any new talent that will be coming in in the next few months.
Now that the game's delayed until March of next year, hopefully Visual Concepts can produce a solid product to make up for the debacle that was WWE 2K20. Considering WWE 2K21 was cancelled, WWE 2K22 better be pretty damn polished or I can see WWE dropping 2K and Visual Concepts as the developers in the future and going with someone else.
But until then, check out the new trailer to see how the visuals are coming along. They look pretty good, but it won't mean anything if the game doesn't play right.
